Hermans & Roman Property Solutions, the black owned property management company with more than R14 billion under management, is rapidly expanding with the appointment of key staff.
Kevin Roman, Group Chief Executive Officer, believes that good quality staff are the company's most valuable assets. "Through the appointment of proficient and academically qualified staff, we are ensuring our clients consistently receive superior service delivery at functional and strategic levels."
Hermans & Roman has grown exponentially since its establishment in 2002 from 11 staff members to 172 nationally, managing private assets in excess of R7.4 billion and public sector assets worth R7 billion.
The company manages properties of blue-chip clients and has a division specifically structured to suit the needs of public sector clients. Hermans & Roman is able to respond to client's specific people requirements, with strong corporate support (in-house in an outsourced vehicle).
Tony Stokes, National Human Resources Manager said, "Hermans & Roman is a people-focused organisation. We nurture a working environment of respect, teamwork and diversity where staff are valued for their contribution. This strategy and philosophy enables us to attract and retain first-rate talent - a critical component to ensure that we achieve our strategic goals."
The new additions to the team include Athalea Minnaar, appointed as Strategic Business Development Manager, who has extensive brand management and business development experience, nationally and internationally. Allison Clifton Ballard, a qualified attorney, was appointed as National Leasing Manager.
Through the Hermans & Roman Mentorship and Internship programmes new recruits are able to acquire formal working knowledge and experience. The executive team which includes Executive Managers, Liezel Conradie and Susarah Wileman and Kelvin Katz; National Facilities Manager, are experts in the industry and are instrumental in the mentorship of these recruits. "We are creating a talent pool of young people who will be very marketable in the future and will be in a position to make a positive contribution to Hermans & Roman and the property industry in general," said Roman.
Graduates that have been recruited into the Mentorship and Internship programmes have diverse qualifications. These range from Bachelor in Commerce degrees with financial management, investments, law and economics as majors as well as Bachelor in Science, degrees majoring in property studies.
"The key to our success is the promotion, development and wealth creation we provide to our staff. The aim is to build a pool of expertise in response to the current and future skills need in a growing economy and the property industry. Quality people are instrumental in the growth of our company and it is our commitment to ensure that our staff grow with us," said Roman.
