Sep 01, 2008:
A massive development near the Gautrain's Centurion station is quickly nearing completion.
Property experts are already describing Centurion Gate as a new beacon. It is next to the N1 highway to the north.
Construction near the highway's John Vorster off-ramp started in 2005.
Although it is an international investment, South Africans played the leading role. The whole complex was designed by Paul Boshoff of Urban Concept.
The developer, CPN Property International, has tentacles in several foreign developments.
The development has been planned over six phases. The fifth phase has just been launched by Solly Preller, a director of CPN in Australia.
Mariette du Plooy, a SA property manager that manages sectional title schemes for PCN Property Management, says the first phase includes a City Lodge hotel and the second phase several restaurants and office space that's been rented out to Rhapsody's, Fishmonger, Ingplan (an engineering firm) and Amedco (financial advisors).
The main building in the third phase has been completed and space in this building has already been rented out to restaurants, a Planet Fitness gym and various other stores.
The fourth phase, which has already been completed, is a sectional title scheme within the Centurion Gate Homeowners Association, an Article 21 company that's been registered to manage the entire development.
This phase is known as Centurion Gate Business Park and consists of 13 office buildings with three levels each.
The recently launched fifth phase is a large office block that will accommodate, among others, Kumba Iron Ore. "The last phase will consist of fully furnished exclusive sectional title units and their construction will start soon."
"The Gautrain will be passing the development's doorstep and the Gautrain station is currently under construction. Cameras will soon be installed and these will cover the whole development via closed circuit television (CCTV). The whole park will be protected for 24 hours per day by guards." – Philip de Bruin, Sake24
