A prime located modern, four-storey commercial building in Cape Town's well-known and historic Bo-Kaap has been sold by for close to the undisclosed asking price. The deal was concluded by Graham Freeling, sales and investment consultant for Pam Golding Commercial leasing, and the property was purchased by Lona Trading, an export business, which now occupies the top two floors of the building for its headquarters.
Comments Freeling: "The new owners have relocated to the vibrant Bo-Kaap from the Cape Town city centre. Located at 212 Upper Buitengragt, this 1150sqm building is a very sound investment property - in excellent condition and recently renovated. The positioning is prime with spectacular views over the city, mountain and sea, and close to the city centre, V&A Waterfront and major routes in and around Cape Town. While providing easy access in a central location, the building is situated in a quiet area where there is not much through traffic. Property here is sought after and this kind of space is hard to come by. The historic heritage of the area further enhances its appeal and investment value - right next door to this property is a historic cottage."
Freeling says the remaining floors of office space - the first and second floors comprising 303sqm each - are now available to lease at R90 per square metre which represents good value for money. Parking is additional and is on the ground floor. With a total of nine secure bays, of which three are taken up by the owners, six parking bays ie three per floor, remain available to the new tenant/s. The A Grade building is fully air conditioned, with tinted windows.
