Buildings and material group Cashbuild (CBS) said on Monday total revenue rose by 10% for the first quarter of its 2015 financial year due to increased sales in its new stores.
The company opened 18 new stores since July 1 last year. These stores contributed 6% of this growth in revenue in the first quarter‚ while existing stores were responsible for 4% of the growth.
Total transactions at the tills rose by 7% and units sold were 5% higher than the previous comparable quarter.
Cashbuild said trading conditions throughout the quarter remained tough‚ with selling inflation up 4% year on year.
Gross profit percentage margins remained at similar levels to those reported for the previous full financial year‚ it said.
