Construction work at The Quadrant, a R100m Century City office development, will begin in the last quarter of this year.

Amdec plans to retain this development as an investment and to let space in a price range of roughly R110/sq m when the building comes on stream in the last quarter of 2008.

Sited on 6,877sq m on the corner of Bosmansdam Road and Ocean Spirit Avenue, The Quadrant will consist of three double-storey buildings providing 4,800sq m of lettable space with basement parking in all three buildings, allowing parking on a ratio of six bays per 100sq m of rented office space.

"When Amdec purchased this site two years ago, we did so in view of the fact that Century City was set to become the prime office precinct outside of Cape Town's CBD," said Gary Maclear, Amdec's Cape projects director.

The architect has designed these buildings in a Cape vernacular style to conform to the Century City design guidelines.
