This small, luxurious and privately owned boutique hotel Sugar in Cape Town's Green Point area is on the market at R15,75m. The hotel is set on the main boulevard between the city and Sea Point, with views across the V&A Waterfront to the ocean.

Says Colleen Seabell of Seeff's Guest House Division: "This luxury boutique hotel is perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of the city, Waterfront and Atlantic seaboard and is close to many restaurants, nightclubs and beaches, with access to scenic day trips, city and wineland tours. Sugar Hotel has seven luxury rooms, all en suite, one of which is a family unit, making it one of very few luxury boutique hotels that accommodates children of all ages."

Decorated in contemporary shades of grey, silver and black with splashes of red, blue and green, Sugar has five front-facing bedrooms with Waterfront views and two mountain-facing rooms each with their own private plunge pool. All are carpeted, air-conditioned, have wired and wireless internet access, an entertainment centre with LCD flat panel TV, DVD CD player, glassfront silent mini-bar fridge imported from Germany, electronic mini-safe imported from Italy, international wall plugs, and tea and coffee station. The stylish bathrooms have underfloor heating, filtered drinking water on tap, double vanities, bath and separate shower. The family unit has two rooms, one with bunk beds and Playstation.

General amenities at Sugar Hotel include a well-stocked pool bar, a restaurant that serves breakfast, light lunches and dinners, a swimming pool, a two-roomed treatment spa, two separate computer stations with printers and 24-hour internet access, a small curio and wine shop, wireless internet access throughout the hotel at no cost to guests, double- glazed windows to minimise outside noise and an on-site secure parking area. There are 16 security cameras on site, and staff are on duty 24 hours. Sugar Hotel has two staff rooms with one bathroom. There is a large kitchen, storeroom and laundry room.

Says Seabell: "Sugar Hotel is a landmark building on Somerset Road, and is fully functioning as a five-star establishment (rated by the Tourism Grading Council of SA). Being within walking distance of the shops and restaurants of the Waterfront and close to all amenities and activities, it is popular with local and international guests, with repeat clientele from business folk and tourists alike. The spa treatment facility means that 24-hour pampering is on tap."

The Guest House Division has a selection of other properties on offer, for example, a four-star 12-bedroom guest house in Sea Point for R10m, an 8-bedroom guest house in Tamboerskloof for R9.5m, and a 9-bedroom guest house in Camps Bay for R12.995m.
