In a bid to gear up for the 2010 Soccer World Cup, the Avis group is creating a turnaround facility in close proximity to the Cape Town International Airport. The facility will include an Avis regional office, workshop as well as several wash bays and valet bays, and will be developed by Abland.
As of 17 July 2009 all Avis rental vehicles will, at some point in their mechanical lives, venture into this massive facility to be repaired, maintained, washed, checked and stored.
With a capacity of approximately 6,000 cars, it will also dispose over eight hectares of under-roof parking.
