Land Equity Investments (Pty) Ltd, which is a South African based privately held property investment, development and private equity company has recently redeveloped one of their buildings in Green Point to AAA+ grade office requirements. This modern and conveniently situated building is currently in the last stages of being redeveloped into a top class office destination and is set to be a sought after choice for business owners.

This development simply named “70 Prestwich Street” boasts all the modern conveniences such as ample parking, high security, one traffic light / easy access to all Cape Town’s major highways and the city itself as well as a trendy coffee shop on the Ground floor, all combining to make it a destination office space. Renowned architectural firm, Peerutin Architects, designed the redevelopment while Kyle Roux of Kyle Roux Interiors brought his typical clean-lined contemporary approach to the interior design. “I wanted to create a great place to work but without compromising on luxury and comfort. The furnishings are inspired by the modernists of the mid-20th century and are presented in rich tanned leathers and contemporary weaves, set against stark white structural detailing which is offset with the warmth of natural oak floor and charcoal tones,” explains Kyle.

Russell Smith, CEO of the Land Equity Group is excited about the latest development in the Land Equity portfolio; “It’s our vision and strategy, (that with the advent of business instruments like iPhone’s, Blackberry’s and IPad’s over the last few years), that the way people do business, and how they occupy office space is changing and will continue to change. In taking this into consideration, we’ve used the re-development of 70 Prestwich Street as a template for how we see future office developments going forward. We have ripped out ceilings to create 3.8m floor to ceiling volume, and concentrated on a combination of raw elements, and light XXX space. We’ve also added super-high-speed bandwidth, which in today’s environment is a necessity. Each tenant will then create their own identity within their space, and we have assisted them by creating a show office, where the focus is communal space. A person should want to come into an office because it is functional and aesthetically enjoyable space to work. Obviously, we also feel the building is superbly situated being adjacent to the V&A Waterfront, with the CBD only a stone’s throw away as are top restaurants, hotels and businesses and tenants can enjoy the state of the art office space whilst inciting a vibrant and exciting working environment.”

Several tenants have already signed leases and have begun taking occupancy.
