Heavy vehicles give sales boost

PARK Village Auctions ended 2013 with a bang. This was largely thanks to the auction of FT Group Holdings which saw PVA dispose of a “massive” collection of electrical component stock, vehicles and miscellaneous items.

A well-attended final truck and trailer auction also contributed to the company’s success.

That’s the news from PVA’s LeRoy Augustyn who explains that PVA’s truck and trailer holding grounds were “bursting at the seams” with stock sent by banks and liquidators.

“It’s been a surprisingly good year for the new and used truck industry,” he says.

Demand for quality trucks, trailers, yellow metal and earth moving equipment has remained fairly strong throughout the year.

Whether or not 2014 will prove as successful depends on how certain socioeconomic factors play out in 2014.

Augustyn says many buyers are purchasing with a view to lease.

Overall, he says interest and attendance at PVA’s auctions is increasing and a number of prospects are shaping up nicely despite the fact that the financial institutions are accommodating debtors more than they did in the past.

“PVA is fortunate in that the company enjoys a fairly steady stream of business stemming from genuine bank repossessions. We have also widened the net via our new private sector campaigns.”
