SA creativity highlighted
2006-10-25
FACTORS such as globalisation, the move towards real estate investment trusts and the 2010 Soccer World Cup will be discussed at the fourth annual property investment conference to be hosted by commercial property association Sapoa and the Investment Property Databank (IPD) this week.
The conference will be held tomorrow and Friday at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Stan Garrun, MD of IPD SA, says: “We understand local market conditions and we are well positioned for economic growth. But how well are we set up for global influences? What does increasing international liquidity and cross-border investment mean for SA? How adaptable are we? And how innovative?”
The conference has earned a solid reputation in the past three years as a forum for extensive debate on topics affecting both the fixed property and listed property sectors. This year the focus will be on bringing innovation and creativity to the property investment sector.
International experts will give their views on topics ranging from capital flows to the benchmarking of property investments. Local innovations in the fields of urban regeneration and township development will be spotlighted.
