THE R450m Highveld Mall shopping centre is fully let and on track for opening on April 26.
The mall, which is in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, is being developed by a consortium consisting of Flanagan & Gerard Property Development and Investment and black-owned and managed Falcon Forest Trading.
The 40000m² fully enclosed and air conditioned mall, with more than 110 stores, has a wide mix of tenants. Anchor tenants are Woolworths, Pick ’n Pay and Edgars.
All four major banks will be represented at the mall, which will be introducing the Meltz Mega Factory Store to the area.
Patrick Flanagan, of Flanagan & Gerard, says the tenant mix includes a combination of well-known, popular national retailers and unique, specialised and independent retailers.
“Pick ’n Pay has already taken up its new premises and, by the end of this month, most of the retailers will be moving into their shops in preparation for opening,” says Flanagan.
Highveld Mall is next to the Tsogo Sun, which will be linked to the mall through an escalator and elevator court.
The mall will also offer customers a PostNet store.
The centre is co-owned by listed property loan stock company Resilient Property Income Fund, which has a 60% interest, Flanagan & Gerard (17,5%), and a subsidiary of Falcon Forest Trading, Mogwele, with 12,5%.
Local investors will own 10%.
