Industrial Park To Be Redeveloped
2006-10-02
Property developer JT Ross has major redevelopment plans for its Western Cape Brackenfell industrial and office park it acquired from Group Five.
The property, which was recently acquired for an undisclosed amount, will have a further 20000m² of light industrial and distribution space added to it. The park, which was recently upgraded, already has 60000m² in use.
Doug Ross, MD of JT Ross, says a new interchange has been built in Brackenfell and there is a lot of development activity in the area.
"The area has undergone a transformation. An opportunity came up with an old industrial property, which we saw had redevelopment potential."
The park is situated in the vicinity of the Checkers group's distribution centre for Western Cape. Ross says the park is "tired" but there is "potential for development opportunities with the ability to develop a further 20000m²".
