SA takes to online shopping
2010-03-23 · General Property News
Seventy seven percent of South Africans with internet access are shopping online, according to a survey released by Mastercard Worldwide on Tuesday. Music and movies top the list of purchases, followed by airline tickets, home appliances and electronics.
Shoppers surveyed said they found it convenient, user-friendly and easier than walking into a shop or ordering from a catalogue or over the phone.
A recent study by World Wide Worx found that internet penetration in South Africa had passed the five million mark, out of a population of just under 50 million people.
